Macreddin Village, named after Credin, grew
into an area of great importance, at one stage sending two members to
the Irish House of Commons, before slowly slipping into decline in the
late nineteenth century. Now once again this unique and picturesque village
will thrive with the opening of the Brooklodge Hotel and the establishment
of an equestrian centre and craft shops. The facilities at Macreddin
Village are second to none.
Actons Country Pub
In the village itself, Actons Country Pub serves brilliant bar food and perfect
pints from its very own microbrewery.
The Store Rooms
The Store Rooms at Macreddin Village continue our dedication to fine dining and
'real' foods. In our bakery and smokehouse, organic, wild and free range produce
and ingredients are used to create a delicious assortments of breads and smoked
foods. A collection of Village shops specialising in fine wines, produce and
tableware are ideal for a leisurely browse.
Macreddin Stables
This region of Ireland is the Home of the Irish Horse. The fertile limestone
soils and mild climate have produced rich green pastures and our love of horses,
great horsemanship and internationally renowned breeding skills have made Ireland
synonymous with the horse. Horse riders, both beginners and experienced can
avail of the Equestrian Centre at Macreddin where trail riding, trekking or
hacking can be arranged. |
